01.  AWAKEN

SYNOPSIS

AWAKEN is a 3D animation short film created as part of our FTA210 module. 


The story centers around a robot that wakes up in a ruined city with no memory of the past. As it wanders through the desolate environment, it discovers remnants of human civilization: a child’s sketchbook, a broken statue of Nike (the goddess of victory), and a music player.

 Initially, the robot cannot comprehend human language; texts appear as unintelligible code. However, through encountering art and symbols of emotion, it begins to develop an understanding of humanity. Gradually, the code transforms into readable language, leading to an emotional climax in which the robot shuts down in despair. 


The narrative concludes ambiguously, with the sound of a baby’s cry hinting at new life.
